Raeanne Bartlett and Alix Chavasse- “Pamela Courson Morrison”-Nov. 21-7 PM EST

Join me on Monday as I talk with Raeanne Bartlett and Alix Chavasse who are currently researching and writing a book that explores the tumultuous lives and relationship of The Doors’ singer Jim Morrison and his common law muse Pamela Courson. They run a tribute website to honor the late Ms. Courson, who was a huge inspiration for a major influence on not only the Jim Morrison of The Doors, but also for many in the fashion world then and now.

A tribute to the beautiful Pamela Courson Morrison, may she rest in peace. ♥

I think that Pamela has been greatly misunderstood, misjudged, and undercredited for her contributions in inspiring some of the world’s best known rock songs, styling Jim, and being a fashion icon of the 60’s. Pamela remains a beautiful mystery, someone who continues to fascinate people and spark interest in a culturally pivotal time in American history.

P.M.H. Atwater – Author of “Near Death Experiences- the rest of the story” Sept 19 – 7 PM EST

Atwater is one of the original researchers in the field of near-death studies, having begun her work in 1978 (shortly after moving to Virgnia), and is a pioneer in subjects like near-death experiences, the aftereffects of spiritual experiences, transformations of consciousness, reality shifts, future memory, and modern generations of children and how they differ from previous generations. Atwater did free-lance assignments for many periodicals nationwide including Sunset Magazine. She wrote the column “Coming Back” for the Vital Signs magazine 1981 – 1985. She earned her Letters of the Humanities (L.H.D.) doctorate from the International College of Spiritual and Psychic Studies in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, May 19, 1992; and was awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Therapeutic Counseling in March 2005, from Medicina Alternativa Institute, The Open International University for Complementary Medicines, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Also in 2005, the International Association for Near-death Studies (IANDS) presented her with an Outstanding Service Award and the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists awarded her a Lifetime Achievement Award.[2]She has been a Prayer Chaplain since 2004.

Atwater retired as an active fieldworker in near-death studies in 2010, calling for the entire field to recognize near-death states as part of the larger genre of transformations of consciousness and how they change people. Her last book on this subject, which gives her summation, isNear-Death Experiences: The Rest of The Story (Hampton/Red Wheel, March, 2011). For the first time, she wrote the entire story her own three near-death experiences (I Died Three Times in 1977 – The Complete Story) published as an e-book in August, 2010.

Tom Naughton – Comedian / Film Maker September 5th 7 PM EST

Tom first realized the value of making people laugh when he paid for his entire college education with one joke — the one that begins, “Mom, Dad … I want to be a doctor.” Tom’s parents still laugh about this joke and are fond of repeating it to their friends, as well as to strangers they meet in restaurants and on airplanes.

After two years of pre-med, Tom switched to a self-directed major called “Random Courses That Do Not Involve Studying Organic Chemistry.” By creating his own major, Tom enjoyed the rare distinction of graduating at the top and bottom of his class simultaneously. His valedictorian speech was very short, as he was the only one in attendance.

After college, Tom worked as a writer and editor for a magazine published by the National Safety Council. But after publishing some humor essays in Newsweek, OMNI and Playgirl, he quit in a blaze of optimism to become a freelance writer. He soon discovered that occasional bylines in national magazines did not impress landlords or credit-card companies, so he decided to look into alternate careers that offered more security. He chose acting and standup comedy.

Eventually Tom became a regular on the comedy-club circuit, appearing in major clubs such as Zanies, The Ice House, and Yuk-Yuk’s, as well as in a lot of bars and bowling alleys he’d rather not talk about. He moved to Los Angeles and appeared in several sketch-comedy shows, a few plays, and his own original play, “Quest for the Ultimate Cool,” about a guy who wastes several years trying on different personas in a misguided effort to become somebody cool — not that anyone in Los Angeles could relate to the idea.

Tom also booked a sitcom role in his very first Hollywood audition, as a doctor on “Encore! Encore!” — which was canceled by NBC the day after the audition, proving that Tom has comic timing even when it’s not a good idea.

Tom still appears in clubs and on cruise ships, and is known for a clean, cerebral style. He is also the writer/director of the comedy-documentary “Fat Head: you’ve been fed a load of bologna.” The film’s official site can be found here.

Dr Alfred Adams- Author / Radio& Television Host – August 29th-7 PM EST

With the death of his fiancé to suicide, after she lost both of her parents and a brother in a quick series of events, Dr. Adams began a study of biblical prophecy that has reshaped his life in an irreversible way. He knew that faith, hope, peace, and most of all love were essential to the Bible.

In the wake of his father’s death in 2004, Dr. Adams wrote Nearing Midnight. He started The Nearing Midnight Show hosted by Dr. Adams, in 2006. He also co-hosted the Nearing Midnight TV show, which illuminated world events with the light of biblical prophecy. The show aired in the Lafayette, Louisiana area to 500,000 households. The Nearing Midnight TV show was a great stepping stone for Dr. Adams to be able to become the supporting host for the television show Keys to the Word, which aired in the Greater New Orleans area to one million households on UPN/WB.

Dr. Adams received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Ministry from Cornerstone Christian College based in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was made an Honorary Louisiana State Representative by Robert Faucheux, Jr. in September 2006. In November 2006, Dr. Adams was also made an Honorary Louisiana State Senator by Louisiana State Senator, Nick Gautreaux. He was made an Honorary Military Police Officer of the Directorate of Emergency Services, Ft. Benning, Georgia in May 2007. These rare awards of honorariums from both houses and from Ft. Benning are testament of Dr. Adams’ works.

Dr. Adams has written several books, and has produced several documentaries.
